Eudora v5.x (Mac) - Account Setup

If you're having difficulty setting up your email account with Eudora version 5, follow these instructions.

The following example is illustrated using Eudora v5.2.1 on the MacOS X.

Select Eudora...Preferences...

This will bring up the following window:

Fill in the following information:

Username	Your POP3 Account ID is username%yourdomain.com
Mail Server	Your POP3 Host is mail.cybermill.com
Real name	Put your full name here (e.g. Joe Smith)
Return Address	Your email address is username@yourdomain.com

Now click on Checking Mail. The following window will come up:

Verify that the information is correct and click on Sending Mail. The following window will come up:

Fill in the following information:

SMTP Server

Your SMTP Server is mail.yourdomain.com

Verify that Allow authorization is checked and scroll down on the left until you come to Host. Click on it and bring up the following window:

Verify that your settings match these and click OK to save and exit. You can now send and receive email with your Cybermill account.

If you are managing more than one email account with Eudora, scroll to the bottom of the box on the left so that you can see the icon for Personalities.

Clicking on that icon brings up the following window:

Click on the New button next to the Personality drop-down box. Any previous settings will disappear from the window.

Fill in the following information:

Personality Name	The personality name needs only to be a name by which you will recognize this account
Username	Your POP3 Account ID is username%yourdomain.com
Mail Server	Your POP3 Host is mail.cybermill.com
Real name	Put your full name here (e.g. Joe Smith)
SMTP Server	Your SMTP Server is mail.yourdomain.com
Return Address	Your email address is username@yourdomain.com

Your screen should look as follows:

When you are done entering the information, click OK to save the settings and exit. You are now ready to send and receive email with your Cybermill account.
